Playdeck started as a simple scratchpad of "Would You Rather" questions shared between friends. We realized that in an era of complex, high-stakes digital experiences, there was a missing "middle ground"—a place where you could spend two minutes being entertained without an account or a steep learning curve.
We follow a strict rule at Playdeck: The 3-Tap Rule. Every user should be able to start a game, make a choice, and see a result in three taps or fewer. This meant stripping away sidebars, unnecessary popups, and intrusive logins. We wanted the interface to breathe, using soft blues and rounded edges to keep the vibes light.
Built with Material UI and a custom "Glassmorphism" theme to ensure the app feels native on both iOS and Android browsers.
Next.js allows us to deliver lightning-fast page loads, ensuring that "quick fun" really is quick.
We're currently working on QuestionStreak, a high-speed mode for trivia lovers, and expanding our riddle database to include localized puzzles from different cultures. We're also looking into ways to let the community submit their own "This or That" decks while keeping the platform safe and ad-supported.
